Merit Policy

Transparent, fair, and UHS/PNC-guided merit-based selection.

How Merit is Calculated

IICON follows a transparent merit-based selection process in strict accordance with University of Health Sciences (UHS) and Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) policies. Merit is calculated based on academic performance in the qualifying examination and, where applicable, entry test scores.

  • BSN: Merit based on FSc (Pre-Medical) marks + entry test score (if applicable), as per UHS merit formula
  • LHV: Merit based on Matric (Science) marks as per PNC guidelines
  • Post RN: Merit based on Diploma marks + years of clinical experience

Merit List Publication

  • Merit lists are published on the IICON official website and on the college notice board
  • Candidates are informed via SMS/WhatsApp on the number provided in the application
  • Selected candidates must confirm enrollment within the specified deadline or forfeit their seat
  • A waiting list is maintained; vacant seats are offered to next-in-merit candidates

Seat Categories

  • Open Merit: Seats allocated on pure academic merit regardless of any other factor
  • Self-Finance: Limited self-finance seats available for deserving candidates who narrowly miss the merit cutoff
  • Scholarship/Concession: A limited number of fee concessions available for financially disadvantaged but academically strong students — apply separately to the Principal's office

Important Rules

  • Submission of false or forged documents will result in immediate disqualification and legal action
  • Merit is based solely on academic achievement — no other consideration is given
  • Original documents must be presented at the time of enrollment for verification
  • IICON reserves the right to cancel any admission found based on incorrect information
